Newfoundlands really know how to share..

A person already occupying a chair is no deterrent for Katy. She'll happily climb up and wedge herself into any available space, no matter the size. This morning she detected that I might like to sleep in a little and took matters into her own paws. When I sat up to get my glasses, she climbed into bed and wedged herself onto the pillows at the head of the bed in such a way that I could not lie back down, comfortably anyway. Normally when she jumps up on the bed, to sleep, she does so at the foot of the bed, arranging herself conveniently nestled behind my knees. So, I know today was all about getting the show on the road: breakfast and the rawhide chew stick she gets before Mr. Field Notes and I leave for the day.

We pay her back though:

Yup - that's going to go over really well when you have a baby to nurse! Our old Springer Spaniel always wanted to be pat of that procedure, to, but at least she was small. :)
