What a cranky Newfy puppy is like.

When I say Yuki likes to run her yap, this is what it looks like.

When this video was shot, she was right at the end of a rough and tumble session, getting ready to take a nap. When she gets cranky, she gets restless and picks the nearest interesting things to chew. Notice how she started with her tail, then moved on to the rope bone, then Katy and finally her own wrist? That's pretty typical. So is the barking — and the baby growls. She went easy on our ears this time.

For the last two weeks she's been teething. We have only found two of the teeth so far. We found and saved a bunch of Katy's baby teeth. But I don't think we're going to find many of Yuki's because she is so much more active and feisty. She just ends up swallowing them. Today I noticed she lost one of the big teeth next to one of her top canines. It left a big hole. That didn't prevent her from catching and eating popcorn thrown to her tonight. That's when we got to see Katy in action. She busted out her can of Whooop *ss and laid the smack down on Yuki if she tried to horn in on Katy's tosses.

The absolute funniest thing is that Katy has had tons of practice catching popcorn out of the air but is absolutely abysmal at it. Her catch percentage must hover around 2%. Dear old Max was the Popcorn Catching Champ. His average was in the upper 90s, easy. You'd think with a bigger mouth, it'd be easier. Then again Max's top priority in life was food. He never let a kernel slip by.

By the looks of the video clip, you'd guess Katy's life passion is ignoring Yuki. You'd be right.

Aww she's so cute, and they're both so pretty!

Your blog is helping me come to terms with the fact that my boyfriend will definitely get a newfy some day whether I like it or not, haha.

How freakin' adorable! I'm with weirdbuglady: I'm not typically a dog person, but NA loves 'em.... so I'm trying to get familiarized with the different breeds. I've told him that once we get a house, we can get a dog; from the looks of the housing market, it might be sooner than planned!

This is so cute! I wish I had sound. The last computer technician uninstalled my sound driver and then to top that off Carmella chewed my wires to the speakers today!

Check out my new blog post about her and a few other topics here:

Oh, by the way, what type of movie camera do you have and is it easy to put a video on your blog? I want to do that with Carmella.

Thanks for your question giftbearer.
I have a sort of old digital Sony cam and use iMovie to import footage and edit it. Then I post it to YouTube and embed the html code here. It can be a time consuming process which is why I don't do it very often.

Was the "Boss" on in the background or was I just confused?

Your dogs are cute, where do you get to sit?

Good ear, B! You're right - that's the Boss =D

fwiw, that particular video was shot with a point-and-shoot Canon, a digital Elph. The newer ones keep getting better and better video quality, and even decent audio (to wit, Atlantic City isn't hard to make out). I think that's even easier than the old video camera, plus if you shoot a short clip, like 15 seconds, you can use blogger to upload it. Pretty slick. :)
