Little Baby Newfoundland in Action!

I just love this shot of Yuki because it captures her in all her newfarious glory - simultaneously devilish and adorable. Skipping across the floor, pitter patter of the baby feet.

No doubt she is seconds away from further eviscerating the couch as soon as I turn my back longer than five minutes.

She's teething now too. So far we've found two of the teeth she's lost. Her breath is nasty, something we never got with Katy. And, she also bleeds a lot around the gums of some of her teeth, which is another thing I never noticed with Katy. I suspect the two are connected.

Yuki continues to be a very affable character. She runs up to greet people and sometimes plants a few kisses on them. She jumps up a lot too, and has a nose for crotches. Another thing Katy never did. She also humps Katy on a daily basis - it's mostly hilarious but I do hope she grows out of it.

The two of them make quite the pair. Today was the first day they laid down together on the dog couch. Mr. Field Notes shot a funny video of the two of them on the couch. I hope he posts it soon, so I can link it here. It shows their personality differences perfectly.

She's growing!

I like her fuzzy hair :-)

As for the bad breath, I would check her mouth, make sure she doesn't have a tooth that hasn't fallen out all the way and is trapping food, that happens sometimes and can make for some MAJOR bad breath.

I also think you've got yourself a dominate little girl, humping is her way of showing Katy she's number 1 !

Have fun and hope the couch remains whole! One of our lab puppies ate our picnic table once...

Yeah, yeah. She's a cutie with attitude!

I know the humping is a dominance thing. She still doesn't displace Katy nor is she able to take food from her. Sometimes Katy will let her have toys during the course of play, but I don't think that's so much 'giving in' to Yuki as it is losing interest. So far neither one is consistently dominant to the other. That may have a lot to do with their size difference, so when Yuki can throw her weight around and actually have it impact Katy, we might see that changing.

But the humping has to go.. though, I have to say, it makes us feel like Max is still with us!
