Name the Newf Contest

Welcome to the Name the Newf Contest!

I'm sponsoring this contest to generate names - and hopefully a winning one - for our new Newfoundland puppy. The person who suggest the name that sticks and becomes her name will win an item from my etsy store. You can choose anything under $20.

The contest ends when we've chosen our puppy's name.

** Participate as many times as you like, but please only once per day. A serious name that befits a large, dignified individual is most likely to stick. She may be small now, but in a few months, she'll be 100lb behemoth! Remember leave a way for me to contact you if you win.

    I think that she looks like an Eleanor!

    What a cute puppy - have fun with her!

  17. I don't know if it's just the picture, but she has a very serious look about her. Kind of like human babies that you can easily picture as an adult.

    I think she should be called Margaret. Maggie for short.

    Ok, (Big breath intake) here I go. My submission is Hallie Max, or Hallie M.
    H=Holly
    al-Alasdair
    ie=tail end of Katie
    Max is to honor First Brother, even after he is gone. And even once the baby's name has gone to just Hallie, Mom and dad will know Max(ine) is still there, having paved the road for young Hallie.
    You know who this is, of course.

  27. Hallie is so similar sounding to Holly tho.

  30. SHe looked instantly like an "Olivia" to me. Dont know why....

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ohh so cute!

    Zadok

    That is my pick =D

    ReplyDelete
  32. I like people names for animals, so instantly thought Matilda, but someone else already picked that. I really like Ursula too (already picked as well!)

    So I'm suggesting Nadya (short for Nadezhda) - can also be spelled Nadia.

  33. When I saw your little cutie I thought "Black Beauty." That's a little too common so how about "Bella Noir."

    Hi,

    She looks so adorable.

    I like the suggested name Karma.

    My boyfriend and I are planning to buy a Newf or Shiloh Shepherd pup next spring/summer. So we're thinking of large breed, intelligent names with personality...

    Her photo makes her look like as thinker. I suggest Echo.

    Good luck!
